Happy Easter

I hope that everyone is having a happy Easter and enjoying their day!

It’s easy to get caught up in the fun of family, egg hunts, new outfits, and so on… but I hope each person takes the time today to think about the sacrifice that was made on a cross for you and for me. While I believe this is something that we should think about continually, due to the fact that Jesus gave His life so that we could find eternal life, it would do us all some good to really think about and try to understand the suffering He went through because of the love He has for us. We are no longer bound to sin, but have been offered a way of salvation because He paid the price for our sin.

Have you acknowledged His sacrifice? How do you repay a friend who has willing laid down His life for you?

Is the story of the crucifixion just that… a story?

Or have you realized how real and brutal the crucifixion was? All so that humanity might be reconciled to God?

I hope we all understand the reality of the cross and what it truly means for us. It’s more than a story we tell from time to time. It’s a debt paid by the sacrifice of the spotless Lamb so that you and I would have the choice to be free.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1
