Update From Seattle

We are officially residents of Seattle, WA! Ryan and I moved into our apartment on Dec. 30 and were able to enjoy the firework show at the Space Needle from the rooftop of our apartment building.

I love our apartment and I will be posting all kinds of pictures soon!

Now that we are moved in and have our office set up, I will get back to blogging. I’ve missed it the past several months! A new place means new decor and a fresh space to design. =)

I can’t wait to share the pictures of our new place and this beautiful city with you all! Be sure to be checking back as we make this house a home!

Quick Update On Us!

Yikes! I hate it that I haven’t been able to blog in a month! I will definitely be glad when I have an office space and a place to blog away!

So a little bit about us…

Ryan and I have officially been in the Seattle area for a month… One whole month already! Craziness! Thankfully, I got a job at David’s Bridal the week after we arrived, and my husband started his new job a little over a week ago! YAY!

We were able to spend a cozy little Thanksgiving with my family. (They weren’t able to get rid of us seeing as how we are still crashing at their place! Haha!)

Now that we are both working and starting to get some cash flow, the next step for us is to get into an apartment. We went out to look at some of the apartments in the Belltown area and found several we liked and several we didn’t… so the hunt is officially on and we are hoping to get into our own place by the end of December or beginning of January.

Once we are there, my blogging will definitely resume! We are starting from scratch as far a furniture and decor goes because we got rid of as much as possible in TN before we headed this way.

One thing that I am excited about is the giant West Elm right downtown! I haven’t been inside of a West Elm yet, but you better believe I will be spending some time in that amazing store!

Anyway… that is all for now. I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving and has a fantastic Christmas! Don’t forget about me, I will be back!!

Update on us…

The last two weeks has been a bit of a crazy roller coaster ride for us. My husband and I have had some opportunities open up for us in Seattle, Washington, so we have packed up our house and come to Seattle to see what will become of these opportunities.

We have felt for several years that we would be starting a church in Seattle at some point, and these open doors and a series of revival services in our home church have set the ball rolling. We are so excited about the future, and we may soon be permanent residents in the great city of Seattle!

My posts may be few and far between for the next month or so, then again, I may find lots of inspiring things to share with my readers!

We could definitely use the prayers of each of you during this transitional time in our lives.

Go – The Album Is Done!

You may remember me mentioning that my church was recording a live praise and worship album a while back. Well, we have recorded it and it is finished! I am super excited about the way it turned out.

If you are into this style of music, then you need to check out our promo! I just so happened to have written 8 of the songs, and co-written 1 with my brother. I’m also singing the solo’s on 4 of the songs. Read The Rest

Sister is in for a visit…

Having a blast with my lovely sister, Alex! She’s in town for a little while. I’m planning on enjoying my time with her, then I’ll get back to blogging again soon!

Also, our church is doing a live praise and worship album this Saturday! I am sssoooo excited! If you enjoy this style of music, then you need to get one of these albums! You can preorder one now for only $10. There are 13 songs on the album, so you can’t beat a deal like this. Check it out at Psalm 23.

PS. I wrote several of the songs and will be singing a couple.

Grilled Chicken Recipe and a Stab in the Hand

I was trying to find a Cracker Barrel grilled chicken tender copycat recipe to make for my husband last week, and I came across this one at Kiddies Corner Deals. I finally got around to making them for dinner on Tuesday, and while they don’t taste like the grilled tenders from Cracker Barrel, they are super delicious and I will definitely be making them again! (By the way, turns out you don’t actually grill them… but I’m sure these would be yummy either way!) Read The Rest

I.O. Metro

I flew in and out of St. Louis when I took my trip to Washington, so my husband and I drove up a little early to eat at P.F. Chang’s before I flew out.

On a side note, I always get the Lettuce Wraps from P.F. Chang’s because I absolutely love them, but I decided to be adventurous on this particular day and try their new Crab Fried Rice….

It was so worth it!! It even had bacon in it! Who would have thought to put bacon in fried rice?!?

Home from vacation!

Finally home after being gone for two weeks! I had a wonderful time in WA celebrating my parents 25th Wedding Anniversary! I had a blast putting the party together with my sister, brother, sister-in-law, and all of the wonderful people who attend my parent’s church.

I love the way the lights formed a heart behind my parents! I didn’t even notice it until I was looking back through the pics the next day! Read The Rest

Car Trouble and Other Things…

I know I’m not alone when I say that I HATE car trouble! A couple of weeks ago our timing belt broke on our XTerra, so we’ve been driving my husbands blue work van (Oh joy!). I will admit that I am grateful that we at least had something to drive!!

We finally got the car up and running on Friday after my husband and brother-in-law spent the week working on it. I haven’t been home all week, so I haven’t been able to get anything new up on the blog. It was definitely nice to wake up this morning with nowhere to be (until later this afternoon) and be able to just relax at home!

One great thing about not being home during the day is that the house has stayed so clean! However, I don’t mind picking up and cleaning during the day if it means I get to be in my own home! Sticking to my daily and weekly cleaning lists have also really helped me keep things clean. Usually, it only takes a week and the house is a cluttered mess again, but the to-do list is helping stay me on top of things before it gets messy.

I got an update from my parents about a building they are interested in! (Read their story here!) They should find out this week if they will be able to lease the building. If they get it, the will still need to purchase building materials, paint, sound equipment, and a keyboard. There is also a possibility that they will have pews donated to them for free! Please check out the link and donate or share for support this cause.

I’ll be heading to Seattle in a couple of weeks to celebrate the 25th wedding anniversary of my parents and the birth of my cousins baby boy. I am so excited to be able to go home for a visit! There is definitely no place like the amazing state of Washington!

I hope all my readers have an amazing week! Keep checking back for new posts and share my blog with your friends a family!
